We’ve a lot to show :-)

Energy League

How can we reduce our impact on the environment? How can we make our business activities more energy-efficient? How can we become a “greener” bank? For example, by providing our data to students and universities which help us to answer these questions.

We work closely with the Czech Technical University (ČVUT), in particular with the University Centre for Energy-Efficient Buildings and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. However, we also cooperate with international universities, such as POLIMI in Milan, with which we realised a project dedicated to the use of mathematical optimisation for the analysis of the setting of contractual parameters for large-scale electricity consumption.

Who do we cooperate with?

  • we participate in the Czech Technical University’s research projects
  • our data forms the basis for dissertations and theses
  • our cooperation transcends borders: POLIMI in Milan and DTU in Denmark

Energy League

We are reducing the consumption of energy and supporting the development of clever technology not only for cities. We are supporting clever solutions with regard to our environment.

We are developing activities and measures that are focused, in particular, on reducing the consumption of energy (electricity, heat, gas, water). Over and above the framework of our statutory duties, we have been paying long-term attention to activities that alleviate the consequences of their activities on the environment. And thanks to it in 2015 we became the historically first holder of the Green Bank award, which was granted to us by the servers www.vstricnabanka.cz and www.bankovnipoplatky.com in the first year of the GEEN Green Bank competition.

More than three quarters of the electrical energy consumed by ČS comes from renewable sources. We focused on reducing the consumption of energy in the branch network and created the Energy League project which, in a web application on the Intranet, provides all employees with information about energy consumption in all our buildings and generates electricity consumption rankings, as the most demanding energy disciplines.

Since 2015 we have been running a pilot project for electromobiles and supporting commuting to work on bikes, so we have built several parking zones for bikes - bike spaces. For a long time we have been sorting waste and from 2013 we only use recycled paper, as the production process is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001 and meets the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) criteria. The paper used also obtained a Blue Angel certificate.

In 2015 the implementation of a new Facility Management system was completed, enabling the digitisation of documentation for buildings and technology, technical administration of buildings, cleaning and waste disposal, building and operating documents including ENE and EN audits, support for mobile platforms, reporting and information sharing. The processes for recording and managing assets have also been completely digitised since 2015.
